VF NH 1941 The Brandenburg gate in Berlin had long been a symbol of German Unity and Might. With a chariot and rider at the top, it is located in the heart of Berlin, adjacent to the Nazi headquarters there. During the Soviet occupation the Soviets lifted the chariot and turned it around so it would be facing East Berlin (it was in the Soviet sector). It has since been returned to its original facing, to the West.
