Mint Germany Stamps to 1933

VF LH 1902 Deutsches Reich 5-Mark Kaiser Wilhelm II adressing the court of German nobles. Unwatermarked.

VF used, 1905-1919 Germania and the Kaiser regular issue. This is the continuation of a set first printed in 1900 and inscribed "Reichspost." The inscription was changed to "Deutsches Reich," in 1902. Both earlier printings are on unwatermarked paper. This complete set of 12 Germania and four larger stamps shows the Kaiser, the Berlin post office and an allegory of the union of North and South Germany. This is the later printing which was made during WW I, except for the 2pf. which came out in 1905 and was replaced with different colors in 1916.

VF NH, 1920 50-mark posthorn issue with quatrefoil watermark. Designed to be used for revenue stamps, quatrefoil watermarked paper was used for emergency purposes to print a few stamps during the transition from diamond to network watermark paper. Scarce mint and rare used. Showing watermark with shapes more like clover leaves than diamonds. Note: this is a Top left corner-margin example with large margins and markings.<br>
